Online searches of local pharmacies dominate nearly 85% in the health category: Just Dial

As India surpassed the daily tally of 1 lakh of COVID cases, pharmacies, vaccination centers, ambulances, COVID testing centers and oxygen cylinders remained the five most sought-after health categories on Just Dial, reports the latest Just Dial Consumer Insights. YOY demand for all searches across health categories increased 19% in the quarter ending December 2021.

Online searches of local pharmacies dominated nearly 85% of searches on Just Dial in the health category, while those of vaccination centers rose 16-fold in the country’s 1,000 cities as India battles the third wave of COVID.

With pharmacies dominating the majority of searches, the annual growth rate of searches around pharmacy was 15%. This demand remained stable in level I markets while in level II markets it increased by 37%.

Among Tier I cities, Delhi and Mumbai, the two metros most affected by the third wave, contributed about 56% of online pharmacy searches. Bangalore (46%), Pune (42%) and Hyderabad (27%) are the three cities that recorded the highest demand growth rate. Among the Tier II cities, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Nagpur, Nashik and Patna were the top five cities generating maximum demand.

While Tier I cities have traditionally remained in the lead in adopting these online services, Tier II cities are also catching up significantly, which is encouraging in terms of the presentation of adoption and uptake. global digital agility of India.

Request for research of vaccination centers seen in Mumbai, Delhi

Mumbai and Delhi are experiencing peak demand for vaccination centers. Searches from the two cities account for about 53% of the demand for Tier I cities. Jaipur, Patna, Chandigarh, Vadodara and Nagpur were the top 5 Tier I cities that registered the most searches for vaccination centers.

Searches for ambulance services remained stable in India. Among the Tier I cities, Delhi accounted for the most searches and, along with Mumbai, contributed almost 45% of the searches. Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna, Coimbatore and Nagpur were the top 5 Tier II cities with maximum searches.

Searches for COVID testing centers have increased by 47% across India. The demand growth rate in Tier II cities was almost 2.5 times that of Tier I. Among Tier I cities, Chennai, Pune and Mumbai were the top 3 generating the most searches and Coimbatore, Mysore, Visakhapatnam, Thiruvananthapuram, and Nagpur were the top 5 Tier II cities.

For oxygen cylinders, Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore were the top three Tier I cities that experienced peak demand. Lucknow, Coimbatore, Patna, Jaipur, and Chandigarh were the top 5 cities that experienced maximum traction among Tier II cities.
