North Texas schools closed, Feb. 23-24 – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Many area school districts are activating their weather plans as a winter mix of precipitation is expected to contribute to deteriorating road conditions through Thursday, February 24.

Below is a list of some of the largest school districts and colleges that have announced schedule changes. To see a complete alphabetical list of all North Texas districts, churches, and businesses that have announced schedule changes, click here.

The following major school districts have canceled classes for Thursday, February 24: Allen ISD, Arlington ISD, Cleburne ISD, C-FB ISD, Dallas ISD, Fort Worth ISD, Frisco ISD, Garland ISD, GC ISD, Grand Prairie ISD, Irving ISD, Keller ISD, Lewisville ISD, Mansfield ISD, Mesquite ISD, Plano CIO, and Richardson CIO.

Colleges and universities

Collin College began Wednesday with a two-hour delay before canceling Wednesday and Thursday classes.

Tarrant County College was fired early Wednesday and is closed Thursday.

TOS closes at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays and cancels classes on Thursdays.

UNT is closed on Thursday.

UNT Dallas and the UNT Dallas College of Law: All classes and office hours will be held virtually, Wednesday, February 23 and Thursday, February 24. Students and faculty are encouraged to check their emails for details.

UNT Health Science Center is closed on Thursday.

UTA is closed on Thursday.

Weatherford College is closed on Thursday.
