The dedication of a BANFF pharmacy employee has been recognized with a British award.
Jenna Mckenzie, a trainee administrative assistant at Strachan Pharmacy, received top honors in the Rising Star category when the eighth annual Recognition of Excellence (RoE) Awards were announced last week.
The awards are given to healthcare workers for their outstanding achievement in the world of community pharmacy.
The judges praised Jenna for going beyond her role of supporting patients – even delivering medication at her pace.
Jenna was appointed by Bronwyn Heatherwick, pharmacy distribution assistant.
Bronwyn said: “I don’t think Jenna realizes how much she is appreciated by all of us in the pharmacy.
“Overall she is an amazing person who uplifts all the people around her, a joy to work with and a reassuring presence at the clinic.”
The finalists were treated to an all-expenses-paid trip to central London for a glamorous champagne drink reception and awards ceremony.
Helena Beer, host and editor-in-chief of UK pharmacy magazine Training Matters, which organizes the awards, said: “Our finalists represent the best of community pharmacy.
“I am delighted to be able to recognize these individuals for their hard work, dedication and passion in helping members of their community live better and healthier lives.
