MOSCOW, November 27. / TASS /. A total of 60 people are still hospitalized after the incident at the Listvyazhnaya mine in the Kemerovo region that left 51 people dead, the Russian health ministry told reporters on Saturday, adding that the condition of four patients is considered serious.
“A total of 60 people injured in the Listvyazhnaya mine incident are currently in hospitals in the Kemerovo region. Doctors believe the condition of four patients is serious; twelve other patients are receiving medical care at home, ”the statement said.
The press service noted that all patients received all necessary medical assistance, including consultations with clinical psychologists and psychiatrists.
“We have also determined the needs of relatives for medical aid and organized its gradual provision,” the statement said.
The incident at the mine occurred early on November 25. According to the latest data, 64 people were injured, 51 died in the incident, including 5 rescuers. The Russian investigation committee has opened an investigation for violation of industrial safety rules. Mine management and two safety inspectors were arrested.
According to the investigation, the management of the mine broke safety rules, which resulted in the phenomenon of gas dynamics and pollution from ventilation smoke, which resulted in the deaths of miners in the area. Investigators also believe two security inspectors filed inspection protocols without physically inspecting the area.
